About Glasgow Loop
Glasgow Loop is a local information service for Glasgow, Scotland. It is being built to bring council and committee papers, events, alerts, travel and weather into one place, updated automatically through the day. Every item will link to its original source. The site is at an early stage and is not yet open to search engines.
How it is made
Software checks the sources listed below on a schedule. An AI language model summarises new items, working only from what those sources say, and automated checks run before anything publishes. Items go live without a person reviewing each one, and no one reports from the ground: every summary is a digest of a public document or feed, linked back to the original so you can read the full thing yourself. Read the full, source-by-source breakdown on how we gather this.
What you won't find here
Glasgow Loop does not cover arrests, charges, court proceedings or obituaries. That is a deliberate choice, not an oversight: this site exists to tell you what is happening in your city, not to follow anyone through a hard moment in their life, and in Scotland reporting on live criminal proceedings carries real legal risk.
Who built it
I am one person, building this in my spare time outside a day job. I am not a journalist and I do not live in Glasgow: I write software, from Sweden, and this is what that looks like pointed at local information. I would rather say that plainly than dress up an automated site with a fake masthead.
I run the same software pointed at a few other towns too: Brookings View and Moreno Valley View and Broomfield View. Same pipeline, same sourcing rules, same disclosures, just a different place's public records feeding it. Saying that plainly here rather than having each site look like an independent operation.

Everything on this site traces back to one of these, checked on a schedule and never altered beyond the plain-language summary:
